Director Anil Ravipudi reveals THIS Tollywood superstar was his first choice for Venkatesh Daggubati starrer 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'

Venkatesh Daggubati will be seen on the big screens exactly a year later with his upcoming Sankranti release, 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'. Recently during the pre-release event of the film, the director of the film Anil Ravipudi shared that initially Megastar Chiranjeevi was considered to be playing the main lead.

Initially, Anil Ravipudi had envisioned Megastar Chiranjeevi for the lead role in 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'. However, due to Chiranjeevi's commitments to other projects, Venkatesh was approached to take on the role.

During the pre-release event, he said, " I thought of doing this film with Megastar Chiranjeevi Garu, but he was busy with other projects. My plan is to release this film for Sankranthi, and hence I approached Venky Garu. I just narrated the outline to Chiranjeevi Garu."

During the event Anil Ravipudi also shared that he desired to create a film that stands apart from his previous works like 'F2' and 'F3', looking for his return to his comedic roots after tackling serious subjects in films like 'Bhagavath Kesari'. He noted that while the screenplay could have been different with a younger actor, he found a strong connection with Venkatesh, making the shooting process smooth and enjoyable.

Anil Ravipudi added, "Venky Garu shares a solid wavelength with me, and hence, the shooting process was very comfortable. Luckily, I am doing another film with Chiranjeevi Garu."

The film is a comical story where a man is on an adventure with both his wife and ex-girlfriend.

The film features Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female leads, alongside a talented supporting cast that includes veteran actors such as Rajendra Prasad and Sai Kumar. With music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo and cinematography by Sameer Reddy.
