Situations where the lead protagonist is an angry hero who fights against everything that seems unjust isn’t new to Telugu cinema.

. Lilly (
Rashmika Mandanna) doesn’t seem convinced by Bobby’s (
Vijay Deverakonda) machismo. A state cricketer herself, Lilly isn’t your average girl. She feels at home in a gang of boys and having lost her brother to college gang wars, she fears the same when she sees Bobby’s violent streak as a hot headed student leader. The couple fall in love, but Bobby’s tendency to find himself in violent situations threatens to tear them apart, perhaps permanently.
With some fine acting, great background music by
Justin Prabhakaran and cinematography by Sujith Sarang, Dear Comrade shows a lot of promise as it veers into its second hour.
