​Today September 5, marks the time to honour the educators who shape our lives. It is Teacher's Day. In South Indian cinema, several stars have portrayed the role of teachers, bringing these impactful characters to life on the big screen.

​In 'Vaathi', Dhanush plays a passionate teacher assigned to a government school who fights against the commercialization of education. The film centres around his character's mission to provide quality education to underprivileged students in rural areas, challenging the corrupt system that prioritizes profit over learning.

​In 'Nammavar', Kamal Haasan plays Selvam, the newly appointed vice principal of a college. His character takes on the challenge of reforming notorious students while battling his personal struggles.
