'Tholi Prema' star Varun Tej to play an astronaut in his next film with 'The Ghazi Attack' director Sankalp Reddy

After the success of his ‘Tholi Prema’ with Raashi Khanna, under the direction of Venky Atluri, and his previous outing ‘Fidaa’ with Sai Pallavi, under the direction of Sekhar Kammula, Varun Tej seems to be on a roll in Tollywood.
Reports state that the actor is all set to star in a space film that will see him play the role of an astronaut. Sankalp Reddy of ‘The Ghazi Attack’ fame will be helming the yet-to-be-titled project, which will be produced by Y Rajeev Reddy and co-produced and presented by Krish Jagarlamudi of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ fame.
The pre-production of the film will commence either in late February or early March and reports state that this is a project Varun Tej was keen on right from the word go. Sankalp and Varun Tej will also undergo a month-long training programme in zero gravity conditions to prep for the film. The prep will be done in Kazakhstan and shooting is said to commence from April, aiming for a year-end release.
The rest of the cast and crew for the film are yet to be finalised. On February 16, 2018, Tamil film ‘Tik Tik Tik’ is all set for release, calling itself as ‘India’s first space film’. That would make Varun Tej’s untitled project India’s second space film.
