’ released 40 years ago today under the Vyjayanthi Films banner.

The production house that recently produced Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘

Mahanati

’ and

Nagarjuna

and Nani’s upcoming ‘Devadas’ took to social media to mark the occasion and wrote, “Same day ... 40 years back ... young guy with big dreams #legends - Producer Priyanka Dutt” (sic)

A press note posted on social media too reads, “Nataratna #NTR Gari Musical Hit #Yugapurushudu, Second Film Produced by Mega Maker #AshwiniDutt in Prestigious @VyjayanthiFilms banner with #NTR in K.Bapayya's Direction completes 40 years today. Released on July 14, 1978” (sic)

The makers also posted old posters of the film, which released during its release and the one released to celebrate 100 days of its release back then. Starring NTR and

in lead roles, ‘Yugapurushudu’ was directed by K Bapayya and featured music by KV Mahadevan. In the film, NTR played the role of a martial arts pro called Rajesh.
