'LIE' is the first South Indian film to be shot in USA for 75 days non-stop

Awesome!” “Nithiin rocks!” “Intelligent movie!” Just in case you are wondering, those are some of the adjectives people are using to describe the Nithiin-Megha Akash-starrer LIE on social media. And the filmmakers seem to be pleased that their film has lived up to its promise of being a stylish action drama with production values on par with

Bollywood

and even Hollywood standards.
“Did you know that LIE is the first South Indian film to be shot in the US for 75 days non-stop,” asks Nithiin who credits his producers for the film’s output.
“Director Hanu Raghavapudi, cinematographer Yuva and Anil Sunkara garu (producer) spent around 40 days scouting for locations across the length and breadth of USA. The objective was simple — to ensure the film turns out to be a visual feast,” says the actor adding, “We shot at a real casino in Vegas. It was difficult to get permission to shoot there. Only after we persevered a lot did we get permission to shoot for eight hours and they charged a bomb for it.”

Watching the film could well translate into a tour of some of the most beautiful locales of USA reckons director Hanu Raghavapudi. “We shot the

Bombhaat

song on the streets
of Chicago for three days and the Miss Sunshine song in a quaint, beautiful, small town called Ely which is about five hours from Vegas. The downside was that the temperature was nearly minus 8 degrees Celsius. The climax fight was shot in Mojave Desert for five days. The only problem there was that the wind speed used to fluctuate from 40 to 60 kmph. The quality of output
reflects the effort that went into it,” says Hanu signing off.
