SP Balasubramanyam: Last five Tamil songs sung by the lovable singer

Famous singer SB Balasubramanyam left for his heavenly abode today after his long battle with COVID-19. The renowned singer was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for over a month. and fans were praying for his speedy recovery, however, the 74-year old singer breathed his last leaving a big void which cannot be filled. The demise of the SPB has shocked the people around the world, and they have been sharing condolences to the man who delighted them with his soulful voice. 'Massu Maranum' in 'Petta'

After five years, SP Balasubramanyam had lent his voice to Rajinikanth in the 'Petta' in 2019. Anirudh Ravichander's energetic musical 'Massu Maranum' turned as a huge hit worldwide, and the video song has crossed more than 140 million views on YouTube. Even though SPB had sung just a few lines, he was happy on seeing the response for the song, and it's one of the favorite songs of Rajinikanth.

'Enna Vittu' in 'Dev'

'Enna Vittu' song in Dev, is all about separation. SP Balasubramanyam has sung the song so wonderfully, and the lovable song will bring tears to your eyes. The music of the song is scored by Harris Jayaraj, while the lyrics are penned by Kabila. The romantic drama 'Dev', which was directed by Rajath Ravishankar features Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles.

'Chumma Kizhi' in 'Darbar'

SPB has proved that age is just a number with the 'Chumma Kizhi' song in Rajinikanth's 'Darbar'. The song explained the charisma of Superstar Rajinikanth, and SPB has powerfully sung this song. This song is SPB's full-length version in Anirudh Ravichander's musical after a shorter version in the song 'Massu Maranum' in 'Petta'.

'Neethan En Kanavu' in 'Thamezharasan'

'Neethaan En Kanavu' song from Vijay Antony 'Thamezharasan' is an emotional one, which describes a father-son relationship. The music of the song has been scored by Ilayaraja, and it's the last song of SPB with his best friend in the industry. The lyrics of the song are written by ARP Jayaraam and Pazhani Bharathi.

'Ennoda Baasha' in 'Devadas Parvathi'

Apart from rendering songs to many popular stars, SPB had also sung songs for many new musicians and actors. 'Ennoda Baasha' in Devadas Parvathi also features new faces Raj Mrk, Nakshathra Nagesh, and Poornima Ravi in the lead roles, unfortunately, this was the last song sung by the great singer. The lyrics of the song are written by Harsaa VT, while the music is composed by NV Arun.
