Now, Who's f***ing with the music?
Anirudh's recent track Ain't Nobody F***ing With My Music has been under a lot of fire, but listeners seem to have forgotten that they're listening to a rap song. Now that the composer has removed the track, we ask music lovers in the city what they think of the number and the censorship over its lyrics'.

I just find it stupid that people have filed a petition and that Anirudh decided to take it off his channel.

There are way more offensive things on the internet. It's very simple ' if you don't like it, then don't listen to it. Have people who have signed the petition ever heard of Snoop Dogg/Lion, Eminem or 50 Cent? As long as it's not being forced on the ears, it is fine. Anirudh's decision to take it off is wrong because what's being done is ironical after you listen to his lyrics. He is being a hypocrite to take it down because that negates everything that his lyrics are about. The track is about not f***ing with his music and he is letting people do exactly the same. Had he not been the Kolaveri boy, people might not have had an issue with it.

The lyrics are not a problem ' you don't have to take the literal meaning of all the F-words. It has become such a huge issue now because his stardom is playing against him. There are so many other songs online that are way worse. Anirudh didn't have to take the song off; he could have just put an 'explicit lyrics' line with the video.

I believe in freedom of speech. Having said that, I also know that Anirudh has quite an impression on the younger generation. You can choose not to listen to it, but as he's very popular amongst the younger crowd, he does cater to them. However, I believe that people shouldn't have a problem with the track as it doesn't degrade anyone. As an artist, he should be given his freedom for creativity. People don't seem to have a problem with a woman being slapped on screen ' as they perhaps think that that's the norm. If you have a problem with this lyric and not a woman being slapped, then there is something seriously wrong.

It is very unfortunate. I think that censorship is largely bulls**t as it's based on double standards. We have so many movies with innuendos, but if I utter some words aloud, then it becomes a problem. The things in movies that are really derogatory to women but are not said directly are not considered a problem. I find this moral policing inconsistent. What makes things worse is that this song by Anirudh is a remix of Clique by Jay Z and Kayne West. Now, I don't know if he meant to make a remix or a parody, but I don't see anyone filing a complaint against Jay Z or Kayne. I believe that movies and art are a reflection of society. Movies depict what we see in real life and the fact is that people do use profanities. The same thing happened almost a decade ago with Kamal Haasan movie regarding a movie title. Should our courts even entertain something like this?
