Saranya Ponvannan - Velaiyilla Pattathari
Saranya played a caring mother to Dhanush in Velaiyilla Pattathari. She wasn't too emotional nor cool. Striking a perfect balance between the both, Saranya's character was loved by all age groups. The bond she shared with Dhanush in the film was portrayed realistically.

Seetha - Goli Soda
She was the guardian for the kids in the film. She essayed the role with so much earnestness, which was liked by many critics and audiences.

Ritwika - Madras
Ritwika played Anbu's wife in the film. She played a young wife to the aspiring politician in the film. Set against the backdrop of north Madras, Ritwika essayed the role of a dominating wife with so much energy. Dealing with the loss of her husband in the second half, Ritwika handled the role with so much maturity. She even won the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actress this year.
