Yogi Babu: Mari Selvaraj's 'Vaazhai' really moved me

The Tamil film 'Vaazhai' which was released recently has been critically acclaimed and the movie has been receiving a lot of positive reviews. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film is a children's drama. Following multiple praises, comedy actor Yogi Babu who worked with Mari Selvaraj in his directorial debut 'Pariyerum Perumal' said that the film 'Vaazhai' really moved him.

Speaking in the video, Yogi Babu said, "When Mari Selvaraj sir shot 'Pariyerum PerumaI', I understood that some real incidents in his life have inspired him to write certain scenes. Even in those days, I never imagined that Mari sir had an even bigger tragedy shown in 'Vaazhai' was shrouded in him. The film really moved me."

'Vaazhai' was released in theatres on August 23 and the film in one week has made a gross total of Rs 13 crore at the box office. The film features Nikhila Vimal, Ponvel, Raghul, Kalaiyarasan, Sathish Kumar, Dhivya Duraisamy and Janaki among others. The film's music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the movie also marks Mari Selvaraj's debut as a producer.
