Ace filmmaker Rama Narayanan passed away yesterday at a hospital in Singapore after losing out a long battle against a kidney problem. The veteran director and producer has directed 125 films in nine languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bhojpuri, in his three and half decades of illustrious career. His last movie as a director was the 2013 movie Arya Surya.Rama Narayanan has also produced films under his banner Sri Thenandal Films. He was also the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council for three consecutive terms.The loss of this great man is sure to be felt across all film industries in our country.
Narayanan, who hailed from Karaikudi, started his career in Chennai as a songwriter before penning dialogues for films. He and his friend M A Khaja wrote dialogues together under the pseudonym Ram-Rahim.
