Urmila's field trip in Chennai

Urmila, who's debuting in Kollywood with Balaji Sakthivel���s Vazhakku Enn 18/9, says she had to work a lot to get the character she plays in the film right.
���I play a slum-dweller, and I���d no clue about how people who live in slums in Chennai behave. Two days before we started shooting, Balaji sir asked me to visit a slum in the city, and observe the people and their body language.I knew two days weren���t enough to grasp the details, but I���ve done my best. Balaji sir supported me a lot while making the film, and I hope I���ve done justice to my character,��� she says.
The girl is all praise for Balaji. ���I met him at the Goa International Film Festival in 2008, where he���d come to screen his Kalloori. When I expressed interest in acting, he told me about this film. I had to audition for my role, and do the look test before he signed me up. It was a lengthy process. I then knew why all his films are well-appreciated by the audience and the critics!��� she says.
