Former actor and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin was last seen in the film 'Maamannan' which was a huge success. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the political thriller starred Udayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles. Taking to social media, celebrating the success of 'Maamannan', director Mari Selvaraj thanked Udhayanidhi Stalin for believing in him and his story. His statement read, "You have been my best well-wisher from the beginning of this tremendous journey. Your faith in me and my art form has pushed me to go beyond limits with Maamannan, and the results have been humongous. There isn't a word to express my gratitude for your trust in me. I owe this success to you! Thank you!! Love you, Sir!"

Replying to the director, Udhayanidhi Stalin said that he was very happy to work with him and added that he is eager to watch the director's next film 'Vaazhai'. The comment read, "Thx sir ! Love u ! #Vaazhai is gonna be your best ! Waiting for your magic again."

Directed by Mari Selvaraj, 'Vaazhai' is a children film and it stars many child artists in the lead toles. The movie also stars Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, Priyanka and Dhivya Duraisamy. The director worked on the film's story for a long time and the movie is currently in filming stage and the movie is reportedly said to be one of the best works of Mari Selvaraj. The film will be directly premiered on OTT and it is likely that the director will be skipping a theatrical release.
