Trisha expresses joy over the success of her Malayalam debut 'Identity', makes a promise

The Malayalam film Identity, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead role, alongside Trisha and Vinay in pivotal roles, was released on January 2. This crime thriller has been receiving a positive response from audiences since its release. Yesterday (Jan 6) evening, the film's team organized a press meet to celebrate its success. Speaking at the event, actress Trisha shared, “I’ve attended several press meets before, but this is special because it’s my first for a Malayalam film. I’ve always held Malayalam cinema in high regard for its unique and intelligent storytelling. I’ve wanted to act in at least one Malayalam film a year, and meeting director Akhil at the right time made it happen. His narration was impressive. Tovino is truly the ‘Lucky Star of Kerala,’ and Vinay has been my friend since our Endrendrum Punnagai days."

Trisha then added, “This film is completely different from the romantic and friendship-themed films I’ve done before. The shoot was filled with joy and positivity, which I believe is always reflected in the film’s outcome. While no one can predict a movie’s success, the positive reviews and audience response since day one have been overwhelming. Even in Tamil Nadu, the film is getting a great response, and the screens are being increased, which makes me even happier. I’ve always felt a deep connection between Tamil and Malayalam cinema, with legends like Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Nivin Pauly maintaining close ties with Tamil cinema, and vice versa. It’s wonderful to see such camaraderie. I’m proud to have been part of this film and thrilled to start the new year on a successful note.”
