'Super Deluxe': Vijay Sethupathi-Fahadh Faasil's film to premiere at Cannes?

' is one of the most awaited Tamil films this year among other releases. It marks critically acclaimed filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s second directorial after the celebrated gangster flick, 'Aaranya Kaandam', that came out in 2011. Titled 'Super Deluxe', the shooting of the film is currently underway and is expected to release in the second half this year.

However, reports are doing the rounds that the film is likely to have a premiere at

Cannes International Film Festival

that takes place in the month of May. Interestingly, filmmaker Mysskin, who happens to be one of the writers of 'Super Deluxe', has shared this information at a recent media interaction. 'Veyil' (2006), directed by Vasanthabalan was the first Tamil film to be screened at Cannes.

It is worth mentioning that 'Aaranya Kaandam' received outstanding reception from cinephiles and is often regarded as a landmark film in the history of Tamil cinema.

'Super Deluxe' has an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni, Mysskin and Ramya Krishnan in important roles. The film has already created good buzz on social media after Sethupathi’s look hit the web. 'Super Deluxe' will see Sethupathi playing the role of a transgender named Shilpa.
