Sivakarthikeyan's inspiring journey from television to the big screen
Actor, lyricist, producer and singer and many more titles attached to – Sivakarthikeyan is celebrating his birthday on February 17. The actor just turned 37 years old but has achieved many milestones in the Tamil film industry. He entered the film industry by doing an important role in Pandiaraj’s ‘Marina’. Following this, he took up a comical role in Dhanush’s ‘3’ directed by Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. After crossing many landmark achievements, he is now one of the top actors in South India.

Contestant in a comedy show
Sivakathikeyan started his career in television as a stand-up comedian and won the show title as the best comedian in 2007. Following that he became a popular host of many shows on a private channel. He was celebrated as an anchor by the people of Tamil Nadu for his witty comebacks and humble nature. He even carried out hosting award shows later on.

Debuting in Tamil cinema
He made his first film debut in 2012 and did over 7 films in a span of two years which were all family entertainers or comical films. It was only after 2014, the actor reduced the number of commercial films he did and stepped in to take serious roles in the movie.

As a producer
After giving a few hit films, he stepped in with the role of the producer under the banner of SK Productions in 2018. He has produced the movie ‘Kanaa’ which featured Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj in the lead roles. He is now producing his upcoming film ‘Don’.

As a lyricist and singer
Sivakarthikeyan started his career as a playback singer in 2013 and has sung over 10 songs in Tamil cinema. His famous hits are ‘Vaayadi Petha Pulla’ which also has his daughter singing along with him and ‘inna Mayilu’. He then debuted as a lyricist for Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’. He has written over 9 songs and the most famous ones are ‘Kalyana Vayasu’, ‘Chellama’ and the most recent one for ‘Beast’ – ‘Arabic Kuthu’

Achievements
Being an actor, he has crossed many landmark achievements. He is one of the actors who has crossed the box office earning more than Rs 100 crore in Tamil Nadu.
