The demise of popular comedian Vadivel Balaji has shocked the industry. The actor wasn't feeling well for the last two weeks, and he died earlier today. Many celebrities have been taking to social media to offer condolences. He shot to fame after he was part of television shows like
Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru and
Adhu Idhu Yedhu. In fact,
Sivakarthikeyan had worked with Balaji when they were part of the show,
Adhu Idhu Yedhu. The actor, who has some fond memories of sharing the stage with him, was shocked to hear about his demise.
He says, "I know Balaji ever since
Adhu Idhu Yedhu. People say our episodes have so much chemistry. Whenever we got together, it used to be fun. In fact, our director only used to give us a basic outline during our combinations and we used develop our own script. There have been times when we have shot for four episodes in one day and he would still have the same enthusiasm. Even though he is known to imitate actor Vadivelu sir very well, there was something about his spontaneity and his confidence. You can put him in any stage and he will make the crowd instantly laugh to his jokes. I met him at a wedding some time ago. I will always remember his laughter."
Vadivel Balaji also played the role of 'Sivakarthikeyan Mandram Thailaivar' in Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Kolamaavu Kokila'.
