Silambarasan’s time loop drama 'Maanaadu' will get a sequel! ‘Maanaadu’ directed by
Venkat Prabhu was a blockbuster and the film turned out as Simbu's first Rs 100 crore grosser. The latest reports suggest that the makers of 'Maanaadu' are planning for a sequel. 'Maanaadu' completed one year of its release on Thursday (Nov 24). The makers of 'Maanaadu' dropped a video revisiting the remarkable journey of the film and hinted about the film's sequel.
"Loop continues soon," the makers penned.
Movie buffs are elated about the hint and they are eagerly waiting to hear the announcement of 'Maanaadu 2'. But we have to wait to see whether the sequel will also have the same director and the lead or the makers will opt for a fresh combo. Meanwhile, 'Maanaadu' director Venkat Prabhu and actor Silambarasan are busy with their next respective films 'Custody' and 'Pathu Thala'.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, 'Maanaadu' told the story of a youngster, who is struck with a time loop, and the day repeats to him for a cause. Silambarasan played the youngster, while SJ Suryah played the antagonist as a cop. Kalyani Priyadarshan,

Yuvan Shankar Raja. 'Maanaadu' had reportedly grossed Rs 115 crores, and the film is also set to be remade in Telugu.
