'Captain Miller' featuring Dhanush in the lead role is stepping ahead for a grand theatrical release for Pongal, and the film will have a pan-Indian release on January 12. With less than 10 days to go until the film's release, the makers have held a grand pre-release event for the film to build some buzz for the film. Dhanush and the main stars of 'Captain Miller' attended the event, and it increased the buzz for the film as expected. Here are some major highlights from the 'Captain Miller' pre-release event.

Arun Matheswaran earlier had a story titled 'Devadas' for Dhanush, and he even tried to have the actor for his previous film 'Rocky'. But both times he failed to make it, and the energetic director feels happy to associate with the actor in 'Captain Miller'. Arun Matheswaran kept himself calm, as he didn't speak or praise much about 'Captain Miller', and it seems like the director wants the film to speak about his work.

Shiva Rajkumar rocked the stage by dancing together with Dhanush for the song 'Koranaaru'. Then, speaking at the event, Shiva Rajkumar thanked the audience for their encouraging response to his character in 'Jailer'. Shiva Rajkumar never minds about the film's story if Dhanush is playing the lead role, and he called his 'Captain Miller' co-star one of the finest actors in India.

Mari Selvaraj was the chief guest for the 'Captain Miller' pre-release event, and he revealed some facts about his reunion with Dhanush. Mari Selvaraj assured that his second film with Dhanush will be a bigger one than their previous film 'Karnan'. Mari Selvaraj also opened up about Dhanush's care for people as the actor inquired with the director about the people's condition through a phone call when the former was involved in the rescue process during the Nellai floods.

Dhanush started by thanking his fans for their unconditional love. The dynamic actor praised everyone's hard work for 'Captain Miller'. Dhanush felt confident about the output of 'Captain Miller' as he watched the film's final copy, and he compared the film's director, Arun Matheswaran, with successful director Vetri Maaran. Dhanush then gave fans an update on 'Vada Chennai 2' and assured them that the film would happen at the right time.
