Director
Milind Rau
, who shot to fame with his horror film
Aval
, is all set to direct
Rana Daggubati in a supernatural action-adventure thriller. The film, which is likely to go on floors in the next few months, will be shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Milind confirms, “Rana sir and I’ve been discussing films for a long time now. But it was during the lockdown that we actually sat down to lock the story, the script and other logistics. It will be a supernatural thriller, and like Aval, will be shot and released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Suresh Productions and Achanta Gopinath sir are backing this project. We are yet to lock the rest of the cast and crew.”
Interestingly, there were reports of Rana and Milind teaming up for a film on vampires last year. Meanwhile, Milind is working on
Netrikann
, which stars
Nayanthara in the lead. “We have a few days of shoot left, and are hoping to restart work on it by mid-September. We are grateful to the Tamil Nadu government for allowing us to start shooting. But this is a new scenario for us, and we are discussing protocols and guidelines that we need to follow while shooting. Hopefully, we will have some clarity on how to go about it and we can start work again in the next few days,” says Milind, and adds, “Once we finish shooting the Nayanthara ma’am film – it will mostly be in Chennai - and it goes into post-production stage, we will start with the pre-production work on Rana sir’s film.”
There were also talks of Milind and
Siddharth teaming up for the sequel of Aval. “We have locked the story and it’s very, very exciting. But Siddharth has a few commitments and even I’ve got these two films. So maybe once we both get free, we will roll with Aval 2,” he informs.
