Priya Mani does an item number for Shah Rukh

While there were reports that Nayanthara was approached to shoot for an item number in the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone-starrer Chennai Express, we hear that it is finally Priya Mani who has now been roped in for the song. This will be the National Award-winner���s second appearance in Bollywood; she had earlier debuted with Ram Gopal Varma���s Rakhta Charitra in 2010.
Says a source in the film���s unit, ���Yes, Priya Mani will be shaking a leg with SRK for the item song. Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty will be shooting the song, composed by Vishal-Shekhar in Panchgani and Wai, Maharashtra, which is referred to as ���Dakshin Kashi���. Well-known choreographer Raju Sundaram has also been roped in for the number. The song will be shot some time this month.���
The source claims that Nayanthara, who was reported to have rejected the offer, wasn���t the only choice for the item song. ���In addition to Nayanthara, we had also sent out feelers to a few other south Indian heroines including Samantha. Since Priya Mani���s dates fit in with our shooting schedule, we signed her up,��� adds the source.
