Praveen does a Rajinikanth

Those who have seen Praveen Kumar in a rural avatar in the sci-fi film Appuchi Gramam, can now see him Superstar Rajinikanth himself, albeit in a television commercial. ���Yes, it���s a 30-second television commercial of a national brand and the characters relive their childhood days in a scene. That���s when I appear as the Superstar. I got to work with the cinematographer of the Bollywood film Highway, Anil Mehta.He was extremely cool and patient while canning the scenes. Interestingly, during the auditions, I had portrayed Superstar Rajinikanth and I got to do the same character in the ad,��� says Praveen, who has just wrapped up the shoot in Mumbai.
The actor was in namma Coimbatore recently to judge a talent hunt. ���When I had begun to do these shows in the city (Praveen hails from Coimbatore), participants would mostly dance during the talent round. But they have come a long way today. During the show, contestants not only did karate on stage, but also gave away mind-blowing speeches on human rights.��� Praveen is now working on a tele-film titled Nadanam. ���The film revolves around five dancers and the script is so interesting that I agreed to play the second lead in it. It has a nail-biting finish. The entire team is from Coimbatore and we are on the verge of completion of the shoot.���
On the film front, Praveen is all set to begin work on two new projects. Though the actor remains tight-lipped about the films, he says that they are award-winning material. ���I am not interested in commercial potboilers and I would like to do films where I can explore my acting potential. Directors Mysskin, Bala and Vetri Maaran have been a huge inspiration for me and a film with them would put me on different pedestal altogether. But at the same time, its secret wish to do a big-scale war film, on the lines of Baahubali,��� says Praveen
