Not Shahrukh Khan, but Varun Dhawan to star in Atlee's big Bollywood directorial debut with Hindi remake of 'Theri'?

The promising filmmaker Atlee has developed himself as a top director in the industry by delivering back to back blockbuster films with actor Vijay. The big question among the fans is when will Atlee start his next film, and who the actor will be. Atlee was reportedly working next with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, and it was expected to be the Bollywood debut of the director.Now, the latest buzz is that another talented Bollywood star Varun Dhawan is in talks with the makers to feature in Atlee's big Bollywood directorial debut which will be the Hindi remake of 'Theri'.
The dashing star Varun Dhawan was last seen in 'Street Dancer 3D' with Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, which was directed by Remo D'Souza. Now, the actor is reportedly in discussions for the Hindi remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Theri’ which starred Vijay, and the film is to be directed by Atlee, who made the original version of 'Theri' as well. So, if reports are to be believed, 'Theri’s' Hindi remake will be the Bollywood directorial debut of Atlee, and the director will definitely deliver a blockbuster hit in Hindi as well.
Actor Vijay played the role of a police officer Vijaya Kumar in the 2016 Tamil film 'Theri', and the film, which was produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu went on to do great numbers at the box office. Meanwhile, confirmations from Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan or Atlee are awaited.
