Nayanthara’s ultimate comeback: 5 times 'Lady Superstar' proved critics wrong

No matter how much criticism comes off-screen, talented actresses respond with their work. Nayanthara is a prime example of that. Nayanthara is celebrating her birthday today (November 18), while the internet is flooded with wishes for the popular actress. There have been many moments in her career where she silenced critics with her acting skills, just as she has thrown down many trolls from time to time. To relive those moments, let's take a look at 5 memorable films that made Nayanthara talk about her talent.

2/6

'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' (2015)

In Vignesh Shivan's directorial 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan', Nayanthara gave a commendable performance in response to the trolls who were criticizing her pairing with Vijay Sethupathi. As Kadambari, she beautifully portrayed a woman who is very peaceful but lives in pain inside. This film earned her the respect of both fans and critics. Nayanthara convincingly proved how strong she is in character acting.

3/6

'Aramm' (2017)

Nayanthara shattered the doubts that the film would not be a hit because it was a female-centric film 'Aramm', which was directed by Gopi Nainar. Her intense performance as the District Collector, which focused on social issues, received great praise. She vividly portrayed the anger, courage, and frustration of a powerful, honest officer. This film established her as a worthy "Lady Superstar".

4/6

'Kolamavu Kokila' (2018)

'Kolamavu Kokila', which everyone calls 'Ko Ko', Nayan started as an ordinary girl and transformed into a stunning character due to the circumstances. She managed to capture both black comedy and thriller equally. She brought Kokila's fear, intelligence, and courage to life very realistically. This is a career milestone that showcases Nayanthara's total talent.

5/6

'Imaikkaa Nodigal' (2018)

Nayanthara directly refuted the criticism that she would not be 'massive' in the role of a female police officer. Anjali Vikramaditya, who has many layers of seriousness, authority, and emotion, played the role magnificently. Her body language as an officer and her mindset for solving cases were respected. Much of the film progressed in her image.

6/6

'Netrikann' (2021)

Nayanthara showed dedication despite the doubts that playing a blind woman would be a challenge in 'Netrikann'. She convincingly completed the investigation with her knowledge. Despite the weaknesses of the story, Nayanthara's performance alone garnered praise. The effort she put into the character impressed the audience.
