‘Mankatha’ re-release: Ajith Kumar fans burst crackers inside hall

Ajith Kumar’s cult classic film, ‘Mankatha’ has been re-released on the big screens. The movie became a massive blockbuster back then. Even after 13 years since its initial the love for the film has not gone down. However, during one of the screenings, a fan burst crackers inside the hall.As per a report by India Today, Ajith Kumar’s fans in Tamil Nadu and Kerala welcomed the re-release with loud cheers. There were whistles, screams, confetti, and nonstop claps. At Karpagam theatre in Coimbatore, a fan burst crackers inside the hall during Ajith’s introduction scene. It is suggedted that police officials entered the theatre to control the crowd. Talking about the film, Ajith Kumar’s role as ‘Vinayak Mahadev’ is one of the biggest highlights of ‘Mankatha’. He played a character with heavy negative shades, which shocked and impressed fans. His “salt and pepper” look became a huge trend after the film. The powerful face-off scenes between Ajith and Action King Arjun added more fire to the story and kept the audience hooked.The plot of the film includes Vinayak seen as a corrupt Mumbai ACP. He is suspended for helping a smuggler who infiltrates a gang planning to steal Rs 500 crore in IPL cricket betting money from gangster Chettiyar. He is seen working with four thieves, Sumanth (Vaibhav), Prem (Premji Amaran), Mahat (Mahat Raghavendra), and Ganesh (Ashwin Kakumanu) but secretly plots to betray them and claim the loot alone. Betrayals escalate with police pursuits by ACP Prithviraj (Arjun), kidnappings, murders, and a explosive finale where greed unravels the group.Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score is also highly praised.
