Mahat & Sana's Kadhal Conditions Apply is a breezy, romantic tale

The crew of Kaadhal Conditions Apply look cheerful as they shoot a light-hearted sequence in a city restaurant. The lead pair, played by Mahat and Sana, who will be seen in contrasting characters in the film, are foodies who enjoy dishes from different food outlets. The sequence has Sana’s character enjoying some chicken dum biryani for the first time. Cinematographer Karthik Nallamuthu ensures that the lighting is apt for the funny, yet romantic setting. After going through the script, for one last time, director R Arvind is seen, giving instructions to Mahat and Sana. Vivek Prasanna and VJ Maheswari among others are also seen at the spot...

This is a story youngsters can relate to

Mahat tells us, "The film revolves around various issues in a couple’s relationship. It’s about a girl from a small town and a guy from a city; I’m sure many youngsters can relate to it. How they solve their differences forms the crux of the story. I have known Arvind for 10 years. Though he had narrated another story to me a few years ago, it didn’t materialise. I was surprised when Nitin approached me to do a film at an uncertain time like this. I have some hilarious scenes with Abhishek and Vivek Prasanna. I have known Sana and Maheswari, too, for many years. It feels really good to work with them."

Sana plays Keerthana, a girl from Trichy

Sana feels good to have landed this film. She says, "I play Keerthana, a simple, reserved and down-to-earth girl from Trichy who comes to Chennai to work in an advertising agency and meets the character essayed by Mahat. Keerthana’s life begins to change after getting close to him. I was looking forward to work and it’s good to be back to shooting set."

It’s a fun ride with a feel-good story

VJ Maheswari, who is paired opposite Abhishek in the movie, says, "It’s a fun ride with a feel-good story. I play a modern and fashionable girl. It’s about four friends and their intriguing romantic tales."

Kaadhal Conditions Apply is Nitinsathyaa's third production venture

The film's producer Nitinsathyaa says, "It’s a jovial, romantic movie, which features an ensemble cast. Billed as a feel-good entertainer, we have shot in Chennai, Ambasamudram, Trichy, Pondicherry and Courtallam. This is the last leg of shooting – I’m happy with the way the film has shaped up."

Mahat and Sana’s chemistry will the highlight

Director R Arvind says, "It’s an urban romantic comedy that touches upon some of the issues faced by a couple in today’s time. The plot revolves around cultural differences that exist in their life, which in turn, affect their relationship. Mahat plays a vibrant, creative person who is born and brought up in a big city while Sana essays the role of a traditional girl. Their chemistry will be one of the highlights of the movie. Both of them are unapologetic foodies in the film; it’s food that actually unites them. The sequence we are shooting now has the hero taking the heroine to a restaurant where some funny incidents unfold."
