It’s a well-known fact that Dhanush and director Balaji Mohan are teaming up again for ‘Maari 2’, a sequel to the 2015 gangster comedy. After wrapping up 40 percent of the film's shoot, the makers put the project on hold due to the strike in the industry. According to reports, it looks like the star has resumed shooting for the film. Reports suggest that the makers are planning to shoot scenes with Dhanush and Sai Pallavi at Binny’s Mills later today.

actor Tovino Thomas is reported to be playing the main antagonist. The makers have also roped in actors Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Krishna and Robo Shankar to play supporting roles. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is in charge of the music and has already composed a song crooned by maestro Ilaiyaraaja.

On the work front, Dhanush has several releases this year. The much-awaited gangster drama ‘Vada Chennai’, directed by Vetri Maaran, is slated to release in June. Dhanush awaits the release of his Hollywood debut ‘The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir’, which is scheduled to release this summer.

The ‘Aadukalam’ star also has ‘Enaki Noki Paayum Thotta’ coming up with Gautham Menon.
