Laila, who was one of the leading actresses in the early 2000s, recently made a comeback, after 16 years, through 'Sardar'. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Laila speaks about 'Sardar', her Diwali plans this year, and much more.
Laila is elated with the reviews for 'Sardar'. "I am happy that our film is doing the positive talk. Though my role in it was brief, it was crucial for the plot.Also, I am looking forward to doing roles that give me more screen space,” Laila shares.
This Diwali is indeed special for Laila, and the actress reveals why, "My birthday falls on Diwali this year, so it's a double treat! I also am elated that I have a Diwali release as well. PS Mithran told me about the release date in April, and I couldn’t ask for more! In 2003, my film 'Pithamagan' was released for Diwali, and my birthday was on the same date. Diwali always brings me a lot of happiness!"
Laila also has an important message to share with her fans on this festive occasion, "Diwali is a festival of lights, not sound, so, avoid bursting crackers and polluting the air. Instead, enjoy the festival with your family by lighting the lamp of happiness. Happy Diwali.”
