Karthi pays his last respects to stuntman Ezhumalai, who passed away on the sets 'Sardar 2'

Karthi recently reunited with director PS Mithran for a sequel to their previous blockbuster 'Sardar'. The shooting of 'Sardar 2' kick-started with a muhurat puja a week back, and the film shooting was happening in Chennai. Unfortunately, a stuntman fell down from a 20-foot height during the 'Sardar 2' shoot yesterday (July 17), and stuntman named Ezhumalai passed away due to major injuries in the accident. The accident at 'Sardar 2' has shocked Kollywood fans, and the shooting of the film was halted following the accident. Karthi has now attended the funeral of stuntman Ezhumalai and paid his last respects. Karthi was seen heartbroken at the funeral of Ezhumalai, and the actor has reportedly assured financial help for the late stuntman's family.

A fight scene for 'Sardar 2' was shot yesterday (July 16) at a filmcity in Saligramam, Chennai. Unexpectedly, stuntman Ezhumalai fell down from a height of 20 feet, and he was severely hit in the chest and abdomen. The film crew immediately admitted Ezhumalai to a nearby private hospital. The doctors examined him and gave him intensive care, but Ezhumalai died due to bleeding in the lungs. It is said that Ezhumalai engaged in an intense action scene without any protective equipment. Virugambakkam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

'Sardar 2' will be a continuation to the 2022 Diwali release, which had Karthi in a dual role, and the sequel is estimated to be made on a massive budget.
