Tamil actor Daniel Balaji, known for his role in Goutham Vasudev Menon’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ alongside Suriya, passed away on March 29 due to a cardiac arrest. He left the world at the age of 48.

According to recent reports, Daniel was hospitalized in Chennai's Kottivakam due to severe chest pain and breathed his last there. The funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, with his body to be laid to rest at his residence in Purasaiwakkam. Cinema stars have been expressing their shock over Daniel Balaji's sudden demise, and social media is flooded with condolence message for the actor.



Daniel Balaji started his career as a unit production manager on the sets of Kamal Haasan's unfinished Indian historical drama ‘Marudhanayagam’. He was seen in a television serial ‘Chithi’ which gave him an opportunity to be a part of the silver screen acting. After playing a supporting role in 'Khaaka Khaaka', Danile Balaji collaborated with GVM for the second time for the Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ and reprised the role of antagonist Amudhan. This villain role of the actor transformed him into one of the best villains in Tamil, and he then played antagonist roles in several Tamil films.

Balaji made his debut in Malayalam with Mammootty’s ‘Black’. He was the villain in Mohanlal’s ‘Bhagavan’ and Mammootty’s ‘Daddy Cool'.
