'Jana Nayagan' censor delay: CBFC revising committee yet to begin review for Vijay film - Reports
Fans are eagerly waiting for the release update for Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' and it seems that the actioner has faced another road block. The delay, which has been dragging on for weeks, has left movie buffs concerned about the film’s release.
Filmibeat website report say that the censor clearance for 'Jana Nayagan' has been delayed once again as the newly appointed revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification has not begun the review process.
According to reports shared by the Movies Singapore X handle the revising committeeresponsible for re-evaluating the film after the primary certification stagehas yet to initiate any formal procedures.
Sources indicate that the production house KVN Productions has not received any official communication, confirmation or even an acknowledgment from the revising committee regarding Jana Nayagan's re-censoring process. Without the necessary paperwork or status update the makers cannot proceed with finalizing a release date.
Current reports state that the revising committee of CBFC which is supposed to handle the re-censoring process of Thalapathy Vijay and director H Vinoth's film has not even started the process yet.
From the reports it seems that that a February 2026 release is no longer possible. Even if the committee begins the re-certification process in the coming weeks the timeline would be too tight for a smooth theatrical rollout.
Reports add that it is safe to assume that the censor board is clearly not in a mood to give the clearance to Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' anytime soon.
An April release window is also not feasible due to the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
