Vijay has joined forces with director Venkat Prabhu for his next film, tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 68'. The shooting of the film was progressing and the team recently wrapped up a schedule in Thailand. The makers have now added a few stars to the cast of 'Thalapathy 68'. Ivana and Yugendran are reportedly the recent additions to the cast, and they will be joining the team for the next schedule. The official announcement on Ivana and Yugendran's addition to 'Thalapathy 68' will be made soon or we can expect the stars to share a picture from the set to confirm their association.
Reported to be a time travel drama, 'Thalapathy 68' is said to be inspired by the 2012 Hollywood film 'Looper', however, the team hasn’t confirmed it yet. Vijay reportedly plays a dual role in the film that travels across the period, while Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead. The multi-starrer film also has an extended star cast that includes Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Laila, Sneha, Jayaram, Ajmal, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, and Premgi Amaren among others. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music, while the cinematography is handled by Siddhartha Nuni.
The next schedule of 'Thalapathy 68' will commence soon in Turkey, and Venkat Prabhu has recently shared a picture from Turkey as he was involved in a location hunt.
