'Idli Kadai': Dhanush seeks blessings at temple before film's release, Rural drama eyes record-breaking opening

Ahead of the big release, Dhanush performed special pooja ceremony at a temple with his family. Pictures of the actor keeping up with tradition and performing the special darshan while also seeking blessings from the deity are going viral among fans.

Despite being busy promoting his idli shop in several cities across the state, Dhanush's visit to the temple with his family has sparked buzz that the film could just go on to become a hit at the box office. The advance bookings for the film are set to begin on September 28, and going by the early buzz, the film is likely to open well.


'Idli Kadai' is set to become one of the biggest openings of Dhanush's films. According to reports, the actor's film 'Raayan' had set a record by grossing over Rs 150 crores globally, while 'Kubera' had grossed up to Rs 140 crores globally in its lifetime theatrical run. So, there is growing speculation on whether 'Idli Kadai' will break those records.

'Idli Kadai' that features Dhanush as actor and director, also stars Arun Vijay, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj, Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, and Shalini Pandey, among others. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music, and the rural drama is set to release on October 1st, on the occasion of the Ayudha Puja holiday. Even though 'Kantara Chapter 1' is having a box office clash with 'Idli Kadai', trade sources are confident that Dhanush's film will dominate the Tamil Nadu box office.
