Actor Silambarasan TR is surely the man of the moment. The actor has been making heads turn off late, not only with his physical transformation but also with his brand new image. His recent speech at the audio launch of his upcoming film Eeswaran where he opened up his heart and shared his journey of depression, weight gain, career hurdles, seems to have struck an instant chord with the audience. Here are four films of the actor to look forward to in 2021…

Eeswaran

When the first pictures from Silambarasan TR’s Eeswaran released, in which the actor looked fit as a fiddle, it took the internet by storm. Directed by Susienthiran, the film is a rural mass entertainer, a genre STR hasn’t been seen in a long time. Expectations are riding high on the film. Eeswaran marks the debut of Nidhhi Agerwal as the leading lady. The music for the film is by Thaman, who has churned out some massive chartbusters for the actor. The film will hit screens for Pongal.

Maanaadu

Maanaadu is a political thriller written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Silambarasan will be playing a Muslim character named Abdul Khaaliq for the first time in his career. His looks in the film in which he has a bullet on his forehead and worshipping god has already gone viral on the internet. Yet another picture has him holding a gun. Maanaadu has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the leading lady. The shoot for the film has been on in brisk pace and his new look has been going viral on the internet.

Maha

Maha has Hansika Motwani playing the lead. While Silambarasan is playing an extended cameo in the film, his combination with Hansika, with whom STR was said to be in a relationship earlier, has piqued the curiosity among his fans. The duo had earlier worked together in Vaalu. We hear that Silambarasan will appear for nearly 45 minutes in a flashback portion in the film. He will be essaying the role of a pilot and Silambarasan looks dashing as one. The film is directed by UR Jameel.

Pathu Thala

Silambarasan TR will also be seen in the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Mufti. In the film, he will share screen space with Gautham Karthik. Pathu Thala will be directed by Krishna of Sillunnu Oru Kadhal fame. Though there were reports that the project was shelved, the actor confirmed that the film was indeed in the pipeline and that he was excited to work with the team. Mufti, which had Kannada star Shivarajkumar in the lead, was a blockbuster at the office.
