'Mayakkam Enna' (2011)

Directed by Selvaraghavan, 'Mayakkam Enna' saw Dhanush playing a struggling photographer Karthik with an unstable emotional world. Directed by Vetrimaaran, 'Aadukalam' is set in the backdrop of Madurai's cock fighting culture. Dhanush played the role of a rustic young man Karuppu, who is tested by loyalty love, and rivalry. His raw emotional performance captured the essence of rural anger and betrayal. The intensity that he brought in scenes of the climax was particularly standing out. Dhanush won the National Award for Best Actor, marking a milestone in his career.

'Asuran' (2019)

'Asuran,' directed by Vetrimaaran again, saw Dhanush as a fierce teenager and a tired father, a dual-shaded role.
