AR Murugadoss is a highly successful director in Tamil cinema, known for several hit films. One of his notable achievements is directing the blockbuster movie 'Ghajini,' starring Suriya and Aamir Khan. Interestingly, before Suriya and Aamir, Murugadoss planned to make 'Ghajini' with actor Ajith Kumar.
During the promotion of the film 'Darbar,' Murugadoss, aged 49, disclosed that he initially planned to direct Ajith Kumar in 'Ghajini.' Murugadoss made his debut with Ajith in the film 'Dheena' and was set to collaborate with him again for 'Mirattal.'
However, due to conflicts between Ajith and the producer of 'Mirattal,' the project fell through. 'Mirattal' was later made as 'Ghajini' in both Tamil and Hindi, starring Suriya and Aamir Khan, respectively. Murugadoss even conducted a photoshoot of Ajith and Asin for 'Mirattal,' which has resurfaced on social media.
During the promotions of 'Darbar,' Murugadoss mentioned that Ajith had recommended reading the script of 'Mirattal.' Ajith even expressed his willingness to develop six-pack abs for the movie. It was after Ajith's suggestion that Murugadoss considered incorporating a six-pack look for the lead character. This decision sheds light on why Suriya and Aamir Khan displayed six-pack abs in the Tamil and Hindi versions of 'Ghajini.'
Besides these films, Murugadoss has directed several other successful movies. Some notable ones include 'Ramana,' '7aum Arivu,' and 'Thuppakki.' Currently, he is looking forward to the release of 'Sikandar,' featuring Trisha Krishnan, Sonakshi Sinha, Salman Khan, and others. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the movie is slated to hit theaters in 2025.
In a recent interview with Times Of India, Murugadoss mentioned, “In addition to high-octane action sequences, it will be packed with emotions and also carry a powerful social message. It will be a pan-India film. Audiences can expect to see a new kind of Salman Khan in this film.”
