‘Sangamithra’ promises to be one of the biggest historical films in Kollywood. A big ticket film calls for a stellar cast and accordng to reports, actors like
Mahesh Babu,
Arya and
Jayam Ravi are being considered to play the lead. However, it looks like director
Sundar C is looking beyond the Kollywood film industry, and is reportedly eager to rope in a big Bollywood actress as well.
If reports are to be believed,
Deepika Padukone has been approached to play the female lead in the movie. Apparently ‘Sangamithra’ is a very strong female character in the film, and the director believes someone like Deepika can live up to the demanding part. However, the actress has become extremely 'choosy' ever since she expanded her market to Hollywood, so this dream casting looks highly unlikely at the moment.
‘Sangamithra’ is bankrolled by Sri Thendral Films while
AR Rahman
has been roped in to score the music for this historical drama.
