Following a complaint filed by producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu that Keyar and his team have committed several irregularities in the recently concluded Producers Council elections, the court has stayed Keyar from continuing as the President until the issue is resolved. The Madras HC in its interim order said "No policy decision or major administrative decisions shall be taken by the newly elected members, whose election is under challenge, until further orders of this court.
They cannot claim any right on the basis of any administrative action taken so far."
Justice R Sudhakar, of Madras High Court passed an interim orders on a civil suit filed by producer S Thanu, who lost to KR in the September 7, TFPC elections.
According to Kalaipuli Dhanu, Keyar and his team have advertised their candidature in some newspapers which is against the norms and also that Keyar was not eligible to contest the polls because he had not produced any Tamil film during the preceding three years, as stipulated under the TFPC bye-laws.
