'Chandramukhi'

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Chandramukhi', which was directed by Vasu, is the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Manichithrathazhu’. The horror comedy-drama 'Chandramukhi' had a theatrical run for a year. The original version also had the same level of theatrical run. Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, and Jyotika presence helped the film in entertaining the Tamil audience.

'Pokkiri'

Vijay remade Mahesh Babu's Telugu film 'Pokkiri' in Tamil with the same title, and the film was released for the occasion of 2007 Pongal. Vijay played a cop, who operates on a secret mission to destroy gangsters, and the fiery role of the actor was well enjoyed by the fans. Vijay performed better than Mahesh Babu to make the remake a more powerful one.

'Santhosh Subramaniam'

Jayam Ravi has been doing several Telugu to Tamil remakes, and 'Santhosh Subramaniam' was one among them. In Telugu, Siddharth played the lead role, which was reprised by Jayam Ravi in the Tamil remake. Genelia played the female lead and romanced Jayam Ravi, and the film turned out to be a blockbuster.

'Papanasam'

Mohanlal starrer Malayalam film 'Drishyam' was a blockbuster hit and the massive success of the film grabbed the attention of filmmakers from around the world. Kamal Haasan then opted to remake the film in Tamil, and he went with the same director for the remake version. The versatile actor managed to do justice to the role and the film became a success.

'Nenjuku Needhi'

After several considerations, Udhayanidhi Stalin opted to do 'Nenjuku Needhi' the Tamil remake of the Bollywood blockbuster 'Article 15'. Udhayanidhi turned into a cop for the first time for the remake, and he has delivered the best to impress the fans. Director Arunraja Kamaraj has made the best remake instead of copying the same scenes, and made the film connect with the Tamil audience without affecting its main plot.
