Says the Chennai-born youngster, “I actually made my film debut with Idhu Enna Maayam, but Demonte Colony released first. I came to films from theatre, and I still continue to do theatre and corporate shows. I was recently part of the Short+Sweet festival.”
On how he became an actor, Abishek, who belongs to city theatre group Stray Factory, says, “I was fascinated by acting even as a kid. But acting happened because of heartbreak. At that time, my cousin asked me to check out a theatre fest, and I watched a play by Evam there. I was awestruck and from then on, I started to be consumed by acting.”
He is now part of an upcoming Tamil film (“I’m not allowed to reveal any detail,” he informs) and is acting in a short film in Malayalam. “For me, medium does not matter. What matters is if there is scope for acting, which is why I have done very few films even though my first one released in 2015,” signs off the youngster.
