Vijayakanth played a lead role in the character of two shades, a caring family man and a fierce socialist. An emotional film

'Ramanaa' is also an emotional film as the director perfectly had sequences connecting a middle-class man's love for his family, and how he reacts if his love gets broken. Vijayakanth added life to his character with micro-expressions, while the brief role of Simran too turned crucial to the plot.
