2.0 has been entirely shot in 3D, which is and added USP for the film. Director Shankar has stressed a lot about the technology used in the film, including 4D sound, and how it would be a totally different sci-fi film from the ones we have watched so far. The VFX has been done by studios that routinely work on Hollywood films.

India's costliest film

The film's budget is said to be Rs 543 crores, making it the most expensive film ever to have been made in India. Shankar has reportedly spent this amount to make the film as grand as possible and the sheer spectacle of it alone makes 2.0 a film that should be watched on the big screen.
