Ramesh handles 3,000 women!

Ramesh Aravind plays the only male professor in an all-girls’ college in his next comic outing
Ramesh handles 3,000 women!
JUST when Ramesh Aravind fans thought that they’d have two of his releases — Preethi Inda Ramesh and Krishna Nee Lateaagi Baro — to look forward to this week, the actor has gone ahead and postponed one of them. “It’s double suicide to release both my films on the same day. When I heard about it, I called both the film-makers and decided to postpone Preethi Inda Ramesh,” he explains.
Which means that audiences will now get to see Krishna Nee Lateaagi Baro, which was ready a year ago.

“I have no control over release dates unless it’s my film. I’ve been a co-producer and director, too. Half the battle’s won when you have made the film, but bringing films to theatres is a different ball game. So, I’m happy that Mohan, the director of Krishna Nee..., has got a good release date — the IPL is getting over and it’s holiday time for kids,” says Ramesh.
In the film, Ramesh plays the sole male lecturer in an all-girls’ college. “It sounds like a dream role to all men. But it was quite unnerving to handle 3,000 women when it’s already a task dealing with one at home,” he laughs. Krishna Nee... will be the latest in a string of comedies starring the actor, but his latest laugh riots — Crazy Kutumba and Mooru Guttu Ondu Sullu Ondu Nija — didn’t do well. “I tried experimenting for rural audiences, but now I’m back as an urban figure,” reveals Ramesh.
So, will the actor continue to do mainly comedies? “Ultimately, comedy works at the the box office. I tried doing some serious films, but that didn’t work so well. So, I’m back to doing what is good for me and the audience,” he explains.
But what Ramesh really can’t wait to do is return to direction. “I’ve zeroed in on a script that I want to direct, which I’ll announce at the end of this month. There’s always a thrill in direction,” he concludes.
