Sufna: Interesting facts about the Ammy Virk and Tania starrer romantic drama

The romantic drama ‘Sufna’ is one of the much awaited movies of the year. It stars Ammy Virk and Tania in the lead and has been written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu. And the very writer-director Jagdeep Sidhu recently took to his social media handle to share some lesser known and interesting facts about the movie. He had a Q/A session for ‘Sufna’, in which he revealed a number of interesting facts.

One of the fans asked Jagdeep Sidhu that in ‘Sufna’ will the audience get to see Gippy Grewal or Karamjit Anmol. Replying to this, Jagdeep wrote that Karamjit Anmol has a guest appearance in the movie. Karamjit’s name is not there in the movie’s poster, but the fact that he will be seen doing a cameo has only added more to the anticipation of the audience. Also, if Jagdeep has roped in Karamjit especially for a cameo, there must be something special about the part.

When ‘Sufna’ was announced, it had the cotton flowers and cotton fields in the backdrop of the poster. Even in the trailer and in the love ballad ‘Jaan Deyan Ge’, one can see cotton fields. This backdrop has a very romantic as well as serene feel to it. But did you know that Jagdeep Sidhu got the idea of these cotton fields from a Brazilan-French-Swizz movie - ‘Behind The Sun’?

Yes, when a fan asked Jagdeep which Brazilian movie inspired him for ‘Sufna’, the director replied that not inspired, but he saw cotton fields in ‘Behind The Sun’. And that’s how we got the beautiful backdrop.

Right when Jagdeep announced ‘Sufna’, he announced the lead cast of the film - Ammy Virk and Tania. And since then people have been thinking why Tania, and why not his other actresses like Sargun or Sonam. And when the same question again popped up, Jagdeep Sidhu shared the picture of Tania from the look test, dated 12 March 2019 and wrote ‘This Look Test’.

For the uninitiated, with ‘Sufna’ Tania is making her debut as a female protagonist in Pollywood.

Replying to the latter, Jagdeep shared the poster of Gurnam Bhullar’s song ‘Pagal’. The song basically tells the tale of childhood love. It shows how two kids fall for one another, but never confess. And then, due to some circumstances, the two fall apart and after years they meet again first as strangers and then as lost lovers.
