2020 was supposed to be very eventful. There were a number of movies, some new content and some fresh faces to hit the big screen. Talking of the last category, not just fresh faces, even some singers like Sidhu Moosewala, Jayy Randhawa were supposed to make their debut in acting this year. However, owing to the pandemic their and debuts of many others have been pushed ahead. Sidhu Moosewala
Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s debut Punjabi movie ‘Yes I Am Student’ was initially planned to be released in 2019. Then it got pushed forward for 2020, and in the very year owing to the pandemic and lockdown, the movie didn’t reach the theatres. In the film, Mandy Takhar was playing the female lead opposite Sidhu, and the audience was more than excited to see this duo.

Jayy Randhawa
Punjabi singer Jayy Randhawa was supposed to make his Punjabi acting debut this year with the movie ‘Shooter’. Based on the real life story of infamous and notorious Punjabi gangster Sukha Khalon, the movie will be featuring Jayy in the titular role. Thus, Jayy underwent a massive physical transformation, so as to get into the skin of the character. However, owing to Covid-19, the movie got pushed ahead and so did Jayy’s debut.

Delbar Arya
Delbar Arya is a Punjabi model who first won hearts with her performance in the song ‘DownTown’ by Guru Randhawa. Thereafter, she was selected to play female lead opposite Harbhajan Mann in the movie ‘P.R.’ Directed by Manmohan Singh, the movie was supposed to mark the comeback of Mann on the big screen. It was initially slated to release in May, but could’t see the day’s light owing to Covid-19.

Aditi Arya
Another actress who was supposed to make her debut on Punjabi cinema front is Aditi Aarya. Aditi already created a name in South cinema, and in 2020 with ‘Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan’, she was all set to win hearts in Pollywood. The movie was supposed to hit the big screens on May 1st, and Aditi was more than excited for it. However, both Aditi and her fans will have to wait a little longer.

Pukhraj Bhalla
Talking about ‘Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan’, the movie was supposed to mark the debut of Pukhraj Bhalla as well. Though Pukhraj has already tasted the flavours of Pollywood as a supporting artist, ‘Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan’ was supposed to mark his debut as a male protagonist. It indeed was and is a dream project for Pukhraj, but like Aditi, his dreams too will have to wait a little longer now.
