Into its 12th year, Marathi play `Aayushyavar Bolu Kaahi' was recently appreciated once again in Mumbai as a part of its 12-city tour, according to a report. In August 2003, a play was staged in Pune, which nobody knew would become a tradition among theatre lovers in the coming years. The songs and poems penned and composed by duo Sandeep-Salil like 'Door deshi gelo baba', 'Eka damlelya babaanchi kahani', 'Me morcha nela nahi', are famous like movie songs among the Marathi audiences.
The songs are quite varied and are a mix of ragas like thumri, folk music and laavni, capturing every emotion a person experiences in life.
It has been quite a famous play and besides being staged in Maharashtra, has been presented in 14 countries of the world. Even most of the musicians like Aaditya Aathalye, who plays tabla, Nitin Chandrachud and others have remained with the play since its inception. With this being its 12th year, it will also be a more interactive presentation, where the artists as well as the audience will speak about their experiences.
