Much like Bollywood where more often than not star kids follow the footsteps of their parents and become a part of the film fraternity,kids of Marathi actors,writers and musicians are increasingly being associated with the cine industry . ABHEDYA GUPTE Age: 9:

Son of musician-director Avadhoot Gupte Avadhoot might be known for his firebrand music and style but his son has taken to acting. Avadhoot's much delayed project Ek Taara, which is about a humble guy who goes on to become a famous musician, will see Abhedya making his acting debut. Abhedya will play the younger Santosh Juvekar, who is the lead in the film.

VIRAJAS KULKARNI Age: 22

Son of actress-director Mrinal Kulkarni Virajas has taken after his mother and is an actor-director. He even assisted Mrinal in her directorial debut Rama Madhav. The proud mother shared, “Technically, my son became an independent director before me. Much before I made Rama Madhav, he had already directed and acted in his first play Anathema. I am glad that he made this career choice and am looking forward to see him succeed."

SHUBHANKAR KULKARNI Age: 10

Son of musician Salil Kulkarni Ever since Shubhankar made his singing debut with the film Chintoo, there has been no looking back. The song Aggobai dhaggobai brought him to the limelight and his doting dad makes sure that Shubhankar listens to good music. “He was always inclined towards music but I never put any pressure on him. But now that he is making a room for himself in the field, I have decided to encourage and train him,“ said Salil.

SAJIRI JOSHI Age: 11

Daughter of actor Rujuta Deshmukh-Joshi Sajiri is trying her hand at acting and will soon be seen making her debut in the upcoming Swwapnil JoshiSonalee starrer Mitwaa. Talking about her daughter, Rujuta said, “Sajiri has been getting acting offers since a long time but always declined them. But when the offer for Mitwaa came, she agreed. I feel Sajiri is pretty confident for her age and apart from giving her a few tips, I have given her the freedom to decide for herself.“

KAIVALYA LATKAR Age: 10

Son of screenplay and dialogue writer Shirish Latkar Kaivalya has been acting in school plays since the age of three and after being noticed on TV, he is set to share the silver screen with Ankush Chaudhary in the upcoming film Vadhdivsachya Hardik Shubechha. Talking about his son's stint as an actor, Shirish said, "He reads the scripts I write and wants to pursue acting full-time. Kaivalya has a lot of curiosity about camera angles, screenplays and other film-related stuff."

SHARDUL JOSHI Age: 9

Son of actor-writer Hrishikesh Joshi Unlike Hrishikesh who is known for his comic timing, Shardul is a talented singer and has sung a song in Deool. "Now that he is old enough to understand that his father is an actor, he too wants to act.But since acting is time consuming, I haven't encouraged him to take it up. Singing assignments are not a problem as they don't take much time off his school schedule," informed Hrishikesh.

PARTHO GUPTE Age: 13

Son of actor-director Amole Gupte Known for his rational writing style and sensibility as a director, Amole, who will soon be seen as a villain in the Marathi film Ek Taara, roped in his son Partho for his Hindi directorial venture Stanley Ka Dabba. The film fetched Partho a National Film Award. In 2014, Partho was seen in Hawaa Hawaai, also directed by his father. His portrayal of Arjun Harishchand Waghmare, fetched him a Filmfare Special Award.
