Marathi movies which gave us major friendship goals

We can't even think of what life would have been like without our priceless friends or those amazing moments that we have spent in their company. While some friends walk away leaving us with memories some are till the eternity. While we have many examples of films in Bollywood that have celebrated friendship, Marathi cinema too is not far behind and has some amazing films that redefined friendship for us.

'Duniyadari'

This was one of the masterpieces by Sanjay Jadhav. This tale of friendship and love became the biggest blockbuster movie of Marathi cinema. Set back in 70's and 80's the film is shot in Pune on college premises. The story is about friends, who fight and fall in love. The characters of the film are based on the novel by the same name by Suhas Shirwalkar. The story revolves around the characters Shreyas Talwalkar (Swwapnil Joshi) and Shirin's (Sai Tamhankar) love triangle. The sequence where Digya and Shreyas fight against Sainath certainly gives us some friendship goals. This friendship-cum-love story was a box-office hit.

'Classmates'

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, 'Classmates' features Ankush Chaudhari, Sai Tamhankar, Sushant Shelar, Sonalee Kulkarni, Sachit Patil, Siddharth Chandekar and others. This film is an official remake of the Malayalam movie 'Classmates'. The film is set on the backdrop of the college day friendship. Classmates start with the reunion of the passed out batch in a college 20 yrs later. The film shows the flashback of the events during the college days, the friendship, the rivalry between the two groups and a love story. In short, it is a complete entertainer. This film will surely remind you of your college days and definitely deserves a watch.

'Friends'

A Ramana Madhesh directorial, this film celebrates true friendship. It stars the two leading boys of M-town, Swwapnil Joshi and Sachit Patil in the prominent roles. It's the story of the two true mates Neel and Karan who can do anything and everything for each other. Starting with suspense, the story takes us to the flashback. How Neel chooses a friend over his love and what happens next is worth the watch.

'FU: Friendship Unlimited'

'FU: Friendship Unlimited' is a Mahesh Manjrekar directorial movie which starred Akash Thosar, Satya Manjrekar, Vaidehi Parshurami, Sanskruti Balgude, Shubham Kirodean, Mayuresh Pem, Sachin Khedekar, Isha Koppikar, Boman Irani, Mahesh Manjrekar, Medha Manjrekar, Sharad Ponkshe, Ashwini Ekbote, and others. The movie is about life in college. The movie highlights love, heartbreak, rivalry, rebellion etc. This film will surely remind you of Karan Johar's friendship based movies. This complete entertainer deserves a watch.

'Savarkhed Ek Gaon'

This movie is the perfect example of how true friends stand by each other in the most difficult situations of the life. Directed by Rajiv Patil, the movie was super hit because of its untouched storyline and brilliant performances by the powerful star cast. It has its story set in Savarkhed which has been awarded by the Government for being the ideal village, but soon bizarre and unexpected incidents start happening in the village now and how all the friends unite together to save the village is worth the watch.
