The year 2021 will see a lot of sequels scheduled to release in theatres. As theatre owners are getting ready to reopen as the number of the Covid-19 getting lower day by day. The Marathi film industry is set to meet an audience with a variety of quality content.

​'Takatak 2'

Filmmaker Milind Kavde's 'Takatak' starring Prathamesh Parab, Pranali Bhalerao and Bharat Ganeshpure was a surprise hit. And considering the love the movie garnered, it is now getting a sequel.

The sequel will see actors like Prathamesh Parab and Pranali Bhalerao in lead roles. This film is expected to release in 2021.

​'Maska 2'

Actor Priyadarshan Jadhav's debut directorial 'Maska' did well at the box office. It starred Prarthana Behere, Shashank Shende, Aniket Vishwasrao, Pranay Raorane and Chinmay Mandlekar.

Now, as per the latest update, Priyadarshan has locked the script of the sequel of his first directorial film 'Maska'. Taking to his Instagram handle, the filmmaker revealed that "MASKA 2 script is locked !"

​'Dagdi Chawl 2'

'Dagdi Chawl', a crime thriller film inspired by the life of Arun Gawli. Now the makers have announced a sequel to this film. The sequel will be directed by Chandrakant Kanse, who was the director of the original film.

It starred Ankush Chaudhari, Pooja Sawant and Makarand Deshpande in lead roles.

​'Choricha Mamla 2'

Actor-director Priyadarshan Jadhav's last released comedy-drama 'Choricha Mamla' was a box-office hit. Now, the filmmaker is gearing up for the sequel of the film.

In a recent interaction with Etimes, actor-director Priyadarshan Jadhav said "We are working on the script of 'Choricha Mamla 2' and my original 'Choricha Mamla' will be releasing Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannad and Hindi"

​'Timepass 3'

Prathamesh Parab and Ketaki Mategaonkar starrer 'Timepass' was a huge Box Office success. In 2015, the filmmaker Ravi Jadhav released the second part of ‘Timepass' which starred Priya Bapat and Priyadarshan Jadhav in the lead role.

Now, Jadhav is gearing up for the third instalment of 'Timepass' which will see Prathamesh Parab and Hruta Durgule in lead roles.
