Prasad Oak is excited about his upcoming projects based on folk arts
Actor Prasad Oak known for movies like Dhurala, Farzand and Kaccha Limbu among others will be seen dealing with two interesting folk arts one Dashavtar and Lavani in his next projects.
Recently many makers and artistes are trying their hand on lesser explored genre like Sci-fi, psychological thriller and history among others. Along with this representation of various folk art is also increasingly being included in the Marathi films.

Two of upcoming projects of the Prasad Oak also deals with folk arts in detail.
'Dhurala' movie actor's upcoming movie 'Picasso' gives a glimpse of the Dashavatara art. Dashavatara is popular form of theater performed largly in Konkan and Goa area. According to makers they have tried to display Dashavtara in its original format. The movie revolves around a young student from a remote village in the Konkan. Also the film is shot in at Lakshmi-Narayan Temple in Valaval town of Tal Konkan, which is origin of this folk art according to folklore. Trailer of this movie is out recently.
While his directorial movie 'Chandramukhi' is also features another folk art Lavani. Based on Vishwas Patil's novel with the same name, the movie revolves around politician and Lavani performer. The movie is being shot in Mumbai. According to reports it took around 12 years for Prasad Oak to take the rights to make the movie. Earlier talking to us he had said, "I had read the novel of Vishwas Patil's 'Chandramukhi' 12 years ago and wanted to direct a film on the novel. I know Patil from the last 12 years and I had worked with him in the theatres. So, finally. he gave the copyright to us recently to make a film on the same name."
It shows how his interest in folk arts and excited about his projects based on different traditional art form.
